What to do with the Compost “Tea”?
As your food waste starts to ferment, a liquid “tea” will form in the bottom of the bucket. This should be drained off every 3-4 days, depending on how often you add waste. Just fill a small cup with this nutrient-rich “tea” and:
- Dilute with water and add to your household plants in the winter
- Dilute with water and add to your garden and shrubs
- Pour it down kitchen and/or bathroom drains, even septic tanks (when used in drains it will help to clean up our water ways by competing with harmful bacteria)
